From 2 to 4 December 2016, the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart’s NeckarPark will for the second time provide the setting for the UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships. About 300 of the world’s best cycle-ballers and artistic cyclists from over 25 nations will compete over three days for the coveted rainbow jerseys. Sporting excellence, quite special artistic cycling performances and exciting cycle-ball matches are guaranteed.
It means the indoor cycling championships will return to the site of their greatest triumph. The Porsche-Arena was the venue for the world championships in 2010 and it proved to be an incredibly successful event. 18,000 cycling fans produced a new attendance record and a magical atmosphere – it really was a “goose bumps atmosphere”. Stuttgart provides top conditions and facilities for the world championships,” said Harry Bodmer, the “Bund Deutscher Radfahrer’s” (BDR - German Cycling Association) vice-president with responsibility for indoor cycling. Hopes are high for the eagerly-awaited championships in Stuttgart. Some post competition quotes in 2010:
